Last summer’s champion Chiben won the championship by adding points with big tricks and tricks. In the early stages, he was tossed by Kentaro Kimura, a first-year submarine of Wakayama Commercial High School, and his failure was conspicuous.

He threw the ball from a position where he could hit the ground, and couldn’t get a clue to the ball that floated in the batter’s pocket, but a breakthrough was opened in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kanta Oki took the turn at bat in place of Ryosuke Hamaguchi, who showed tenacious pitching up to four times in the scene of one death, second and third base. As he said, “I shared the way and habits of pitcher Kimura within the team and headed for the turn at bat after solidifying the image,” he succeeded in scoring the first goal by hitting the right front in a timely manner. Kimura got off at this time.

In the bottom of the 5th inning with a 1-point lead, No. 1 Yamaguchi hit a double over the center fielder’s head, and Watanabe hit a 2-point home run on the left wing with 1 death and 2nd base. Watanabe said, “I got on the wind well and entered the stand at the last minute,” and smiled, “It was a big shot for the team.”

At the end of the bottom of the 8th inning, Chiben wanted to lead 4-1 and try to escape, but the trial came in the final round. He was hit by Kohei Tanino and Shoya Hosoda in a timely manner and was squeezed by one point, but he beat the last batter to a grounder and won.

After the match, Jin Nakatani mentioned that there was no pitcher to follow Kazuki Takemoto, saying, “If there was no opportunity for the opening goal, it might have been good to have Hamaguchi start pitching a little longer.” I was expecting it.

Ichiwakayama, who lost to Chiben 2-4 in the semi-finals on the 7th, played against Hidaka. Tsubasa Yoneda, who had no chance to pitch in the Chiben battle, showed a dignified pitch with 103 balls and 0 shutouts in the 9th inning. In a post-match discourse, he calmly recalled, “Because the straight wasn’t powerful, I was able to reduce the number of balls by hitting with a changing ball.”

In the top of the third inning, Terada Ryotaro, who was in good shape, took the lead with a left sacrifice fly. In the top of the 5th inning, Pinch hitter Kazuma Kumamoto advanced the game by adding 3 points at a stretch due to a timely hitter in front of the runners and a misstep by a mid-level player. Director Shinichi Handa said, “The whole team had a dark atmosphere, so I entrusted it to Kumamoto, a second-year student.” Kumamoto also responded to expectations, saying, “I struck with the feeling that I would change the atmosphere of the team.”

In the top of the 8th inning, Shogo Matsumura scored two points with a timely hit in front of him, and got the remaining one slot in the Kinki tournament.

The spring Kinki tournament will start on the 21st at the same stadium. From the prefecture, three schools, Chiben Wakayama, Wakayama Sho, and Ichi Wakayama will participate.
