Virtus Bologna Basketball 1st Fortitudo relegated
Bologna divided in two: Scariolo dreams of leading the black “V” to the bis-Scudetto. The other half of the sky collapses in Serie A2
Virtus Bologna takes first place in the regular season by having to play two games to complete their calendar.
Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano has to be content with second place, after having left the main door of Europe undergoing a 3-1 conceded by the reigning champion Efes.
The third strength of the most important men’s tournament goes to Leonessa Germani Brescia, due to the quality put in place in the second half of the year. And on this in several, among the experts, they addressed healthy applause to the Lombard “alternative” top team.

The verdict that everyone was waiting for, on the bottom of the ranking, has arrived. Basketball Napoli has passed in Bologna, on the Fortitudo shore. And the Bolognese team will have to restart from Serie A2. An agony that lasted an entire championship. With doubts confirmed through the passing of the days.
Seeing Happy Casa Brindisi and probably Trieste out of the play-offs for the Scudetto is unthinkable, although it has been shown throughout the autumn and part of the winter. We would never have thought, for the Apulian team, that the double commitment with Europe and the A1 could mislead the prospects of Frank Vitucci’s boys.

Italian basketball needs Bologna entirely in Serie A
It hurts to think of the numerical potential of the “F” and see it slip below. A square like Bologna, with both of them in Serie A, could only do good, to a constantly decreasing movement, and not just to spectators. We have seen a few more Italian players employed, but the percentage of unlikely foreign basketball players, too discontinuous, has exposed the lack of planning of our movement. Which, in the meantime, for an ancient regulation almost like that of football, allows himself the luxury of granting referee Lamonica to the Euroleague, and to keep several modest elements of the whistle of our house.
