The collapse of the roof of the basketball court became known through social networks; No injured persons were recorded.
Mexico City, May 12 (SinEmbargo).- The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) will review the facilities of the Central Gymnasium, of the “Adolfo López Mateos” Unit, in Zacatencoafter the detachment of the roof of the basketball court.
In a video on social networks, it is observed how the structure begins to creak and then completely collapses falling on the mats, while the person who captured the moment says “goodbye, gym”.
Although the cause is unknown, the authorities of the Institute indicated that they are working to determine the causes of the detachment that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, without leaving injured people.
In relation to the detachment of a section of the roof of the Central Gymnasium basketball court in Zacatenco, the IPN reports that it is conducting a review of the facilities to determine the causes of the accident that occurred at noon today.

He also stressed that when sounds were heard prior to the collapse of the structure, the people who were inside the gym were evicted and the area was cordoned off to avoid greater risks.
Meanwhile, the “Personnel of the Board of Works and Installations (POI-IPN) prepares a technical opinion to specify the causes of the accident and determine what is appropriate,” the Institute warned.
Finally, the IPN stressed that the safety of all members of the community is a priority, so the inspections of the facilities will be carried out by competent personnel in the matter to prevent possible future risks.
