From May 19 to 22, the European Weightlifting Championships took place in Tallinn, Estonia, where two Ventspils residents from the weightlifting club “Ventspils Atlants” – Artūrs Tančins and Vasilijs Giņko took part in the competition for adults and seniors as part of the Latvian national team.
Artūrs Tančins became the winner in the discipline “long cycle” in the age group 50-54 years, in the weight category up to 85 kg. Our athlete also won first place in the team relay discipline “long cycle” among seniors.
Vasily Ginko started in the team relay and won three medals – a gold medal was won with a senior team in the discipline “long cycle”, but two bronze medals in a team of professionals in the disciplines “long cycle” and “pushing”.
