Gandia will have to wait, at least one more year, to have a LEB Plata team. Angels Vision squandered their first chance on Saturday and their second on Sunday to move up in category, even though they deserved it just as much as their opponents.
After losing to Baskonia in the first final match, Units pel Bàsquet Gandia had another chance to get promoted on Sunday, but they didn’t know how to take advantage of it either. He fell 56-59 against CB Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid) who also deserves to be in another category.
The people from Madrid dominated the game and the scoreboard for 40 minutes and, although Angels Vision UpB Gandia managed to reduce differences and even draw, they were never able to win the match.
The best thing about yesterday, despite the tears of the players and fans at the end for not achieving their goal, was the applause from the Gandia fans for their own in recognition of the great season they had.
Gandia missed out on promotion in his phase, in which Pozuelo, Salamanca and Baskonia rose, but he will surely have a new opportunity in the near future.
