Timothé Lebobe received his black belt

Sunday, April 24, at the Varbor dojo, the official presentation of the judo black belt to Timothé Lebobe took place. During the morning, the club had organized, from 10 am to 11 am, a training.

Thierry Lebobe, coach of the Froncles club, was happy to see that a large number of Froncles judokas had responded, the others being excused for lack of availability. They were able to revise the latest techniques learned during the last cycle and apply them in combat in front of Francis Clerget, black belt 7e dan, who had traveled especially for this occasion.

The black belt award ceremony that followed took place in the presence of a large number of parents of judokas. Thierry Lebobe was able to solemnly hand over the black belt to his son, explaining that for Timothé, obtaining it had been complicated due to the health crisis. To access the precious sesame, he obtained the kata exam before the crisis, the UV2 between two confinements and 100 points in competition. But in September, he still lacked thirteen points and being in the preparatory class in Reims, with lessons on Saturdays and a heavy workload, he could not train. With only two training sessions over the holidays with his training partner Max, he was able to score these final points. The coach ended the morning by paying tribute to Jacky Baptiste, who died in September and was represented that day by his wife Brigitte and his daughter Béline. Jacky Baptiste was the teacher of Francis Clerget, himself a former teacher of Thierry Lebobe. The opportunity for Francis Clerget to explain that the black belt is not an achievement and that its holder should in turn prepare young people to perpetuate the tradition.
