Chihuahua.- During the National Universiade 2022 a tense and unfortunate moment was witnessed in Ciudad Juárez.
In one of the competitions judoone participant died. David Alexander Gomez Flores from the University of Guadalajara suffered a heart attack after finishing his participation in his category in this sport.
The Governor of Chihuahua, Maria Camposissued a message on his Twitter account upon hearing the news:
I deeply regret the death of David Alejandro Gómez Flores, a Judo athlete from the University of Guadalajara, who lost his life during the National Universiade, in Cd Juárez.
I send my sincere condolences to family, friends and the sports community.
