The Sports Festival is back, one of the city initiatives that have always been a great success and that had seen its last edition in 2019 only to be interrupted by the pandemic. The appointment is for next 5 June at the Esagono park in via Pablo Neruda 2. From 3 pm it will be possible to attend the performances and try all the sports among those present at the event, represented by as many as 21 sports associations. Children and adults can therefore try their hand at athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, archery, martial arts, yoga, diving, gymnastics, bowls, crossfit, dance, circus activities and pilates. From 7 pm you will be able to participate in the mixed 4 vs 4 beach volleyball tournament organized by the city web radio Radio Active 20068, which was also entrusted with the musical part and the commentary of the event. To complete the party there will also be a food area managed by the Proloco. So there is something for all tastes and not just for “humans”: even our four-legged friends are called to the call with an exhibition of dog agility by the association La vita è dog. “We have extended the concept of sporting activity – explained the councilor for Sport Daniele Pinna – to 360 degrees but it remains a precious opportunity especially for the little ones, who will be able to have a taste even on less common disciplines but certainly no less important and to choose their ideal sporting path “. Named European City of Sport in 2011, after the years of forced detention the desire to leave is great. “I want to thank the councilor Pinna for his tenacity and dedication – commented the mayor Augusto Moretti – and also the technicians of the municipal offices who did their utmost. For us the choice of location was important, not only for its perimeter that allows all athletes to perform safely but also because it is time to revive and enhance the Esagono park, bringing it back to center stage. We are proud to have managed to make our event coincide, sponsored by the Lombardy Region , with the National Sports Day 2022 and to have received the patronage of Coni “. A desire for sport gathered above all from the very young: “As soon as the Municipality was able to reopen the gyms – confirmed the president of the Sports Council Francesco Arcidiacono – we witnessed a boom in enrollments even higher than pre-Covid”.
