The Roy de France 2022 shooting in Fontenoy, near Vic-sur-Aisne, this Sunday May 1

The final of the “Roy de France” takes place this Sunday at ru Montier in Fontenoy, between Soissons and Vic-sur-Aisne.

The start of shooting for the wrens is scheduled for 9 a.m.

It is traditionally the 1st arc company of Vic-sur-Aisne which hosts this shooting of the Roy de France on May 1st. This competition is open to shooters licensed in a company or club depending on the French Federation of Archery. He must have acquired the title of Roy or Queen of Company or Club.

Locally, the 1st Archery Company of Vic-sur-Aisne recently carried out its traditional bird shooting for the twenty archers who tried their luck. They participate in this national final on Sunday May 1st.

The keys to understanding the competition

– The Roy de France shooting is reserved for shooters with a recurve, classic or straight bow.

– Eliminations limited to approximately 2 hours. Each Roy shoots an arrow then gives way to the next competitor. They collect the arrows when everyone has shot 3 arrows. As soon as a bird is shot the shooter is qualified for the final phase and until the shot of 6 birds.

– The Final phase takes place between the qualified competitors, all shooting on the same pole. The order of shooting is that in which the birds were shot during the playoffs.

– The shooting time is limited to 1 hour. The shooter who shoots the bird first will be declared the winner and King of France. If within 1 hour the bird is not shot, the title goes to the 1st qualifier who knocked the bird down during the elimination phase.
