The city of Pereira hosted the first Valid National Badminton, in the Under-17 and Senior categories, with the department of Risaralda being the overall winner of the tournament after obtaining 13 medals in total.
In the first scoring event for the national ranking, 110 athletes from the Leagues of Antioquia, Bogotá DC, Bolívar, Cundinamarca, Quindío, Santander, Yumbo, Valle and Risaralda participated as hosts; in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles modalities.
The pre-juvenile category achieved the highest number of medals for the Risaralda delegation with nine medals, the product of two golds, two silvers and five bronzes, where Sebastian Tabares and Juliana Castaño continue to lead the ‘baton’ of this process.
