After two seasons in which the covid-19 pandemic caused the suspension of numerous events, the traditional Popular Badminton Tournament, logically also affected by the coronavirus, will be held again when it comes of age in 2022.
Since the first edition was held in May 2003, the response of fans to this sport has been growing, establishing itself as a long-awaited spring competition in Soria.
The Soriana Delegation and the Soria Badminton Club, co-organizers of the tournament, have been working for several months to develop, with the usual care, the event on May 28 and 29.
As in the last edition held, the absolute, sub-17 and sub-13 categories will be convened both in individual and in the three doubles modalities.
All players will play at least two games in each modality in which they register, accessing the second elimination phase the best of each group.
Registration and payment can be made on the Club Badminton Soria website (www.badmintonsoria.com) until next May 20 at 7:00 p.m. All the information about the tournament is available on this website, as well as on the club’s social networks.
As a novelty on this occasion, any interested party who wishes to obtain the shirt given to the players can do so by completing the same registration process of the people who wish to play in the competition, indicating this possibility in the option enabled for this purpose.
The organization is truly grateful to the sponsors who, in their practical majority, have renewed their support, as well as the public institutions and the local media, the actors necessary to maintain the characteristics of this tournament.
Now is the time for the players to respond, encouraging them to play to continue towards the new normality and consolidate, with their presence, the good health of the contest. The character of it is totally popular, not being allowed the participation of federated players in the absolute category the last three seasons, thus prioritizing the playful part over the merely competitive.
