The NBA analyst believes the Grizzlies missed a huge opportunity to win against the Warriors

Following the Golden State Warriors’ Game 1 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, FS1’s Colin Cowherd offered his thoughts. He felt Memphis let a win slip through their fingers in the inaugural contest, stating:

“That was the game Memphis had to win. Klay rocks two free throws, even Steph Curry missed several open threes.”

After a hard-fought series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Grizzlies face their toughest challenge yet in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Warriors turned a lot of heads in the first round against Denver. Along with the emergence of Jordan Poole, they resemble their old champion teams.

Despite being more inexperienced, the Grizzlies have no intention of backing down. This series was expected to be a must-watch on TV, and Game 1 lived up to the hype.

Draymond Green upped the ante just before half-time with a hard foul on Brandon Clarke that resulted in Green’s ejection. In addition, it went on the wire.

After two missed free throws by Klay Thompson, Memphis found the ball and an opportunity to win the game. They put the ball in Ja Morant’s hands but he couldn’t convert a tough layup.

In the end, Golden State left Memphis with a one-point win to take a 1-0 lead.

Memphis Grizzlies have a little margin for error

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Minnesota Timberwolves – Spiel 4

Memphis already had some room for error, and it was only getting smaller. Going forward, they’ll need to play a near-perfect game if they want to hang out with the Warriors.

Golden State came with experience on their side and made it extremely clear in Game 1. Despite running little in their favor on the track, they still managed to put themselves in the lead. In the end, good teams always find a way to win.

The series is far from over, but Memphis is fighting an uphill battle. They must do everything in their power to connect things in Game 2 before heading to the Golden State for Games 3 and 4.
