Two of the classic provincial base basketball events will return to the courts this Saturday. They are about the Memorial Rafael Rojano and of José Manosalva Memorial, two tournaments that honor the memory of two figures who left a deep mark for their work in favor of the comprehensive training of young athletes. After not playing since 2019, they are now back stronger than ever.
The Rafael Rojano Memorial reaches its tenth edition bringing together in Maristas six Andalusian teams minis (year 2010) and preminis (2011), all female. Teams from the clubs Estepona, Portuense, GMASB, La Carlota, Decorséneca and the host club will compete. The group stage matches will be played this Saturday between 11:00 and 14:00. At 4:15 p.m. the clashes for third places will be played and at 6:00 p.m., the finals.
The José Manosalva Memorial will be played at the Colegio Virgen del Carmen, this Saturday in the women’s category and 7 days later in the men’s. They have confirmed their presence together with the clubs Dos Hermanas, Ciudad de Huelva, Fundación Granada, Qalat La Salle, UCB, La Carlota and Andújar. This Saturday, 8 games will be played in the baby basket, premini, mini, infantile and cadet categories between 10:00 and 14:00 and between 16:30 and 18:00.
Fate has wanted the tournaments to be held on the same weekend as the María Auxiliadora popular race that each year recalls Kiko Pastora symbol of basketball at the Salesianos school.
