The Badminton Club of Fos deprived of the final phase of the Top 12 – Fos sur Mer – Sports

Long undefeated leader of their Top 12 group… then penalized for an offence, reclassified and penalized again, the Badminton club of Fos will not finally play the final phase of the Top 12 organized today and tomorrow in Mulhouse

Initially scheduled for May 6 and 7 in Fos, the final phases of TOP 12 bringing together the 4 best teams of the regular season, have been postponed to avoid finding themselves in direct competition with the Thomas and Uber Cup, the World Team Championships male and female organized in Bangkok (Thailand) from 8 to 15 May. Many players from the finalist clubs being selected for the national team could no longer participate in the championships with their club.

Change of finalists

On March 10, the FFBaD received a complaint indicating that several players from the Fos-sur-Mer club, then leader of its pool, had violated the rules by playing in three different championships (including two abroad – section 6.1.2 of the regulations).
In the first instance, the ICN sub-committee seized noted the facts and in accordance with the texts declared the club of Fos-sur-Mer losing by 8-0 all the meetings in which the incriminated players participated. This decision, notified on March 17, placed the Fos-sur-Mer club in last position in its pool.

On March 24, the Fos-sur-Mer club, judging the late and severe sanction, filed an appeal with the federal appeal commission. This commission, meeting on April 27 after the examination of the file by the national commission for the examination of complaints and disputes, maintains the decision of the ICN sub-commission for the 8th day of the championship but cancels the sanction for the previous days.
The Fos-sur-Mer club is reclassified in second place in the championship and is in a position of potential qualifier for the final stages.

On May 12, the ICN sub-committee notes a new offense by the Fos-sur-Mer club with a new player who has participated in 3 different championships this season.
The ICN subcommittee decides to declare the club losing the J10 of April 23 by 8 to 0.
At the end of the regular season, the Fos-sur-Mer club finds itself third in its pool and not qualified for the final phase.

The clubs qualified for the final phases of the TOP12 for the 2021-2022 season are therefore Aix-en-Provence, Chambly, Mulhouse and ASPTT Strasbourg.
