The Argentine Tirante was eliminated in Germany

The Argentine tennis player Thiago Tirante was eliminated from the German Challenger in Heilbronn, on clay and with prizes of 90,280 euros, after losing in the quarterfinals with the local Daniel Altmaier 6-3 and 6-2. Tirante, born in La Plata and ranked 208th in the ATP world ranking, lost after an hour and a quarter of play against the German Altmaier (66th), the top favorite for the tournament title. Beyond the defeat, it was a good week for the 21-year-old from La Plata as he managed to overcome two rounds thanks to his wins over German Max Hans Rehberg (1062nd) and his compatriot Camilo Ugo Carabelli (154th).

Argentine tennis players won seven titles this year in the Challenger category tournaments, which are second in importance to those of the ATP. Pedro Cachín from Córdoba became champion in Madrid and Prague; Santiago Rodríguez Taverna in Tigre, in the province of Buenos Aires; Francisco Cerúndolo in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia; Tomás Martín Etcheverry in Concepción, Chile; Facundo Bagnis in Pereira, Colombia; and Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the second edition of the Tigre Challenger played at the Club Náutico Hacoaj.
