The Jubilee Tournament took place in sports hall De Beek on Saturday 16 April. Young and old people competed all day long for the honor and the prizes!
Due to the 40th anniversary of our club, the idea came up to organize a team tournament where badminton players of all ages and levels could register.
With a total number of registrations of 56 juniors and 56 seniors from Bakel and the surrounding area, the committee was able to successfully continue the Jubilee Tournament. To make the tournament even more festive, music was played in the background and a Belgian buffet in the form of a chip cart was provided.
After a word of welcome from the committee, highly motivated pupils and juniors competed for the win at 1:15 pm.
Three hours later, the seniors were allowed to join in for at least ten rounds of fun on the track. Besides the fun and fanatical competitions, there were also beautiful rallies to be seen by everyone. Two 10-minute doubles matches were played in each round.
Thanks to good planning, the day went very smoothly. At 10:45 PM, the last games were played, after which the result was announced later in the cafeteria. In each group, the winning team received a chocolate Easter bunny as a prize. The runner-up received a chocolate chicken. The Jubilee Tournament was successfully concluded while enjoying a drink.
The club can look back on a very pleasant and sporty day in which the connection between juniors and seniors has come to the fore. We would like to thank everyone for their presence and commitment before and during this day.
Reunion
In the meantime, the anniversary season continues and a new activity is planned. A reunion will take place on Saturday 16 July, at which members and former members are welcome to visit the canteen of sports hall De Beek. While enjoying a snack and drink, we hope that many nice memories will be retrieved. Registration will be possible soon.
