A student from the University of Guadalajara, who competed in the sport of judo, died of a heart attack while competing for the gold medal in the discipline.
On the first day of the competition, which on this occasion is held in Ciudad Juárez; David Gómez Flores, from the middleweight specialty; he passed out in a break time and lost consciousness. Emergency services came to revive the young man; however, they did not succeed.
Witnesses of the competition criticized that the ambulances took half an hour to arrive at the site; so the paramedics came to clear the competitor dead.
The National Council of Sports Education lamented the death of the young man.
