It is an immense talent, unique in the world or almost, but the potential naturalization of Joël Embiid, interior of the Philadelphia Sixers, arouses debates and raises questions. Many, even, to which Step back tries to answer: is it faithful to what the French team has been trying to build for several years? Is it “ethical”, too, even if many nations use it? And how can this actually be done?
The arrival of Joël Embiid is at the same time a raw sporting question, since it would change the tactical balance of the France team and the collective hierarchy. Can this frustrate the other stars of the Blues, starting with Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier? And can Embiid alone allow him to take a step forward and win the gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024?
