Seongnam City will start the ‘You Dream 5 5’ movement project in which 26 elementary school students participate from May 12 to October 25.

Youdream 5·5 means that children who are shorter than their peers can grow by 5 cm in height, and children who are overweight lose 5 kg in weight.

The city recruits and selects hopeful elementary school students from among the children targeted for the Dream Start project, and conducts a total of 24 online and offline programs.

There are two programs: a K-pop dance class in which 15 first to sixth graders of elementary school participate, and an exercise class in which 11 fourth to sixth graders in elementary school participate.

The dance class learns the latest K-pop choreography to help you lose weight through online zoom every Tuesday. While imitating the instructor’s movements to the exciting music, she enjoys losing weight and increasing her height.

In the exercise class, the target children and Gachon University student supporters are matched one-to-one to manage their physical strength and perform various sports such as badminton and dodgeball.

The smart band is used to measure and check the target number of steps once a week, and to teach a ball game at the Gachon University Indoor Gymnasium once a month.

The city delivers healthy salads home twice a month to help manage the children’s diets. In July, a video on healthy eating education will also be provided.

The city held an online launching ceremony for the You Dream 5 5 project at 5 pm on May 10, before the project started.

Seongnam City Dream Start is a project that provides customized integrated services of health, welfare and education to children from low-income families (ages 0 to 12). The target is 450 people from 322 households, and 10 child integrated case managers are matched.
