Šenbergs, Lācis, Hlebovickis and Zomerfelds win the first ticket to the Latvian Cup final

In the first stage of the Latvian 3×3 Basketball Cup – Kandava Oak Cup – on Saturday, May 28, the first place in the competition of 12 men’s teams in Kandava Sports Hall was won by the “TRUBasketball” quartet – Kārlis Šenbergs, Francis Lācis, Oskars Hlebovickis and Gints Zomerfelds. They got their first ticket to the final tournament of the “Quest” tour on August 6 and 7 in Ventspils.

The most valuable player in the men’s group was Gints Zomerfelds, whose performance was decisive in TRUBasketball’s most intense victory in this tournament, defeating Kandava Technical School in the quarterfinals with 21:20.

The Estonian quartet “Estonia” won in the women’s competition, in the U14 group – the Riga unit “Mesmale Grill 2008”. The most valuable players are Kadri Anna Lassa and Krišjānis Mazburšs, respectively.

The first stage of the Latvian 3×3 Basketball Cup – the Kandava Oak Cup – took place in cooperation with the Kandava Culture and Sports Center. The prize winners were taken care of by the supporters of the tour – LBS, “Sportland”, construction company “Restaurators”, Kandava cafe “Pie Kristapa” and “Kandavas kartodroms”. “Mangaļi” provided water for 3×3 basketball players during the tournaments.
