Selenia Pla Mompó shines again in the National Parabadminton

Last weekend, specifically between May 6 and 8, the town of Madrid held the Spanish Absolute and Parabadminton Championship of the 2022 season. The Francisco Fernández Ochoa Municipal Sports Center welcomed the 138 athletes classified for the dispute of such an event, among them the athlete from the Xàtiva Badminton Club Selenia Pla Mompó who participated in the parabadminton modality.

Selenia Pla Mompó faced her second participation in a C.Spain with the responsibility of defending the good results achieved in the last edition.

In the women’s individual event of the SU5/SL4 category, she faced the athlete from Granada Cristina Sánchez De Lechina, who did not make things easy for the Setabense, because the match, despite being decided in two sets, lasted until 41 minutes long, due to the intense rallies and equality on the scoreboard. Finally, the Setabense was more consistent in the last rallies of each set, which led her to revalidate the title in the women’s singles event by winning 21-16 and 21-18.

On the other hand, in the test mixed doubles teamed up with Pablo Serrana from CB Astures and played the final against the couple formed by Iván Segura and Cristina Sánchez De Lechina. CB Xàtiva closes its participation in the TTR of Enguera with 14 medals.

The day of last Saturday May 7 was completed with the participation of fourteen athletes from the Xativa Badminton Club in the Top TTR intended for the lower categories disputed in the town of Enguera.
