San Jorge University wins six medals in the Spanish University Championships

The Sports Activities Service of the San Jorge University held this Thursday the Sports Gala 2022where the awards have been given to the athletes and teams that have excelled the most throughout the course.

The men’s rugby 7 team has collected the trophy for having won gold in the Aragon University Championships (CAU) and in the Spanish University Championships (CEU), which will allow them to compete next year in the European Championship to be held in Lisbon.

This is the sixth consecutive medal in national or European championships achieved by this team that has positioned the USJ as one of the universities with the best record of rugby 7 in recent years.

The pair of students formed by Samuel Alós and Roman Díaz-Munío He has also received his award for having been champions of paddle tennis in the CAU and having achieved silver in the CEU. On the other hand, the students David Hinojosa and Jonathan Crespo They have been awarded for having won two bronzes in the CEU de Judo, the USJ reported in a press release.

In futsal, the men’s team has collected its trophy for winning gold in the CAU and bronze in the CEU, and the women’s team has achieved recognition for having been champions in the CAU and having achieved fourth place in the CEU.

Besides, Sara Laborda and Ana Ruiz have been recognized for having won gold in the CAU padel, and Loreto Laliena and Lucia Marco, with the silver. Besides, Aliande Barreix and Gautier Maraval they got the bronze in the beach volleyball CAU.

During the gala the awards were also given to “A whole career doing sports at the USJ”which recognize a series of athletes who have practiced sports regularly with the Sports Activities Service throughout their years as USJ students.

Likewise, it has recognized the work of the coaches of the Sports Sections of the USJ, students who with their work have led the USJ teams throughout the season.

Finally, the trophies have been awarded to the champions of the Internal Tournaments held at the USJ, a series of championships in which groups of students compete against each other in the modalities of rugby 5, basketball 3×3, football 7, handball, paddle tennis, badminton and volleyball 4.
