Salamanca enjoys its first experience in Professional Basketball Club – El Sol de Salamanca

A few months ago, the young Guanajuatense of Salamanca origin, Mía Delgado Rodríguez, sought to be eligible as a state team to represent Guanajuato within the Macro-regional basketball team heading to the CONADE 2022 Games, an important showcase for Mexican players with the aspiration of being observed by a club. After being one of the best players in her category within the state team and finishing in third place with Salamanca, Mia Delgado Rodríguez, for the first time in five years, was not eligible, being marginalized from the state team and with it from the Macro-regional.

Within the state, Mia Delgado with the representative from Salamanca, in five games, stood out with 117 points, 47 assists, 16 steals and 16 rebounds, in addition to being selected for the state four years ago.

Despite not being eligible on this occasion, the illusion of representing Guanajuato and winning in the highest national sports event remains intact for the young woman from Salamanca.

Far from being discouraged by this situation, she decides to go to the Try Out held by the Club Libertadores de Querétaro, the idea was just to learn how to show her talents and get in touch with the players to see their level, however, she was chosen to be part of the team. , receiving the invitation with great surprise and pleasure.

In this regard, he comments, “I feel very happy, excited and very grateful to God, it is a big step in my life as an athlete, I am working and fighting for my goals, with my feet firmly on the ground, as they have instilled in me and behind from no one”.

Regarding the experience of being part of a Professional Basketball Club, he comments, “it is a dream come true, I am working with a positive attitude and mentality, the immediate objective is to be fully prepared for the moment that is required by the coach, I can contribute a lot to the team.”

Due to the above, she comments, “I am determined to put my best effort into each training session and be ready when the time comes to play.”

Prior to her first game of the season in the Women’s National Professional Basketball League (LNBP), Mia Delgado, like the rest of the squad, participated in the presentation of the home and away uniforms where the players endorsed their commitment to Club Libertadoras de Querétaro .

For now, the Libertadores de Querétaro team began to write a new story on the path to victory by defeating the Abejas de León, the first game 63 – 53 and the second 85 – 67.

Mía Delgado Rodríguez, within the burst sport, is considered the granddaughter of the legendary Arturo “Mano” Santa Guerrero, who has been giving her all his moral support in her nascent sports career as a professional.

Mía Delgado is the first basketball player from Guanajuato to reach the Sisnova LNBP Women’s League, and even before the opening day began, to be the youngest to have been registered.
