Roland Garros > Rublev: “The best players like Nadal and Djokovic don’t play for points or for money”

At a press conference after qualifying for the 2e round, Andrey Rublev said he is confident that Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will participate in Wimbledon, even without points awarded. The Russian also explained that the Big 3 made tennis even more popular and that this legacy should not be destroyed with bad decisions.

« I haven’t spoken with the other players, especially with the top ranked ones. I think they will play anyway because like I said the best players, especially Rafa, Novak, now they don’t play for points or money anymore, they play for history. Their stakes are different, that’s why it’s important to all work together, to keep this incredible glory that we have now, thanks to these three players (with Federer, editor’s note). If we don’t work together, we destroy it. Somewhere we have to defend each other, we have to defend the tournaments and the tournaments have to defend the players. »
