In the Minor Coliseum of Pereira, the I Valid National Badminton competition was held for 4 days, which began last Thursday, May 19, and ended this Sunday, May 22.
This national event had the participation of 8 leagues in the country, in the senior and under 17 categories, who came with the intention of showing the best of each of their athletes.

On the side of Risaralda badmintonhad the opportunity to compete with a total of 16 athletes, of which 10 in the under 17 category, and 6 in the older category, achieving a remarkable participation.
Undoubtedly, the performance of the badminton athletes throughout the competition was as expected, confirming why they are a national power in this discipline, by winning the title in the general classification again, for the second consecutive year.

William Gutierrez departmental coachcommented on this after the great achievement during the sporting event and the projection to National games:
» A very positive balance for what was the realization of this event, where the Risaraldense Badminton Leaguefor the second time this contest has again, and everything goes as planned, placing us first in the general medal table, with medals that we were looking for as the senior mixed doubles, for the first time we have a silver medal, and this time Risaralda leaves a very high point in relation to what is being sought in National Games 2023«.
To stay in first place, Risaralda won a total of 13 metals, 4 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze, in the Senior and Sub 17 categories, closing the championship in the best way.
