Morelia, Michoacán., May 6, 2022.- The rector of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), Raúl Cárdenas Navarro, championed the delegation of athletes who will be representing the Maximum House of Studies in the “ National Universiade 2022” that will take place from May 12 to June 5 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
During the flag ceremony, the rector was accompanied by the Secretary of Cultural Dissemination and University Extension, Héctor Pérez Pintor, and the Head of the Department of University Sports and Sports Infrastructure, Gustavo Farías Echenique, where he highlighted the historical importance of the UMSNH and, therefore, He exhorted the athletes to give their best effort to place the university in its rightful place.
“Go convinced and convinced that you are the best of one of the best universities in the country, we are a university of excellence, with great quality in academic terms, with the best military band at the national level and we are going to show that we also have quality in the sports field,” he emphasized.
The Nicolaita delegation that will participate in the “National University 2022” organized by the National Council for Educational Sports (CONDDE), is made up of 45 athletes from the following disciplines: athletics 7, tae kwon do 4, archery 1, soccer women’s fences 14, men’s soccer fences 14, chess 2, karate 3, in total there are 21 women and 24 men, who will be accompanied by 6 coaches.
In this regard, the Secretary of Cultural Dissemination and University Extension, Héctor Pérez Pintor, trusted that in the coming days the work carried out by the athletes during the preparatory stages where the athletes have put all their effort will be crystallized, “you are already winners and we are sure that they will give their best on behalf of the Universidad Michoacana”.
Finally, the Head of the Department of University Sports and Sports Infrastructure, Gustavo Farías Echenique, congratulated the group of Nicolaita athletes and coaches who achieved their classification to the “National University 2022” that will take place from May 12 to June 5 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, a competition attended by only the 16 best university athletes from all over the country in the different disciplines and where the UMSNH will be represented in 12 individual disciplines and 1 as a group.
