Raúl Bergua and Gonzalo Isabel win in the Croatian International Badminton – Sports

Huesca players Raúl Bergua and Gonzalo Isabal have been protagonists in the competition held this weekend and where they won in doubles in Sub-15 and, in addition, Raúl was silver and Gonzalo bronze, in the singles. Three medals that confirm the good moment of these young athletes from Badminton Huesca La Magia.

The other two from Alto Aragonese, Alejandro Gállego and Alejandro Yagües, played in the U-17 a considerable jump on the European Tour, to which they are adapting quickly and well. Yagües brings his first men’s individual victory and Gállego brings two, reaching the eighth. In doubles, they fell in the quarterfinals, losing the pass to the semifinals with the Slovenian pair Cepela/Burget in the long run.

The U15 competition has been the most fruitful for the Spanish promises, who have monopolized the men’s singles podium and have also won the men’s doubles title. The individual test has had an important Spanish accent, since up to three representatives got into the semifinals, and it has ended with Yaidel Gil as champion. The Ibizan player had to beat his compatriot Gonzalo Isabal in the semi-finals (21-13 and 21-19) and he also defeated Raúl Bergua in the battle for the title (21-10 and 21-9).

In the doubles event, Bergua and Isabal had to overcome a tough debut in the round of 32 against the Czechs Klima and Strejček (21-14, 24-26 and 21-16) but since then they have not given up a set until winning with the title, after defeating another Czech couple in the final, the one formed by Coufal and Titera (21-11 and 21-18).

The negative note in the U15 competition was Sofía García’s injury in the round of 16 match of the mixed doubles that she played with Yaidel Gil, as it prevented the Spanish couple from playing the quarterfinal duel. In any case, we must highlight the participation of the Ibizan tandem, who advanced to the quarterfinals without losing a game.

The podiums of the U17 competition have also had a Spanish touch, since the men’s doubles of Yulien Gil and Ismael Oballe has won the title. The duo formed by the Balearic and the Aragonese have signed a great championship, culminating in a great match for the title. Until reaching the final, neither couple managed to win a set and confirmed their great moment of form by coming back in the final against the Czechs Burget and Čepela (19-21, 21-17 and 21-5).

The four Badminton Huesca La Magia players were accompanied by coach Roberto González in a tournament where they have performed at a high level and which gives a lot of morale for the next appointments.

The Spanish badminton is in luck, since it has once again demonstrated the great potential of its quarry and that is that the national delegation has harvested no less than three golds, one silver and one bronze between the Adria International Sub17 and the Adria Youth International (Sub15 ). In addition to the medals of the Alto Aragonese, Yaidel Gil and Yulien Gil – Ismael Oballe also climbed to the top of the podium.
