Leading figures from the world of martial arts were invited to the annual course organized by the Upper Valley club.

Saturday, May 14, Daniel Campayo organized the annual Judo Club Quillan course, which took place in two parts. The morning, focused on the technical part, welcomed Jacques Seguin, 7th dan, a key figure in the world of martial arts who discovered judo at the age of 17 and has never stopped practicing. He then turned his passion into a fine professional career, punctuated by numerous internships in France and abroad, particularly in Japan, an exceptional career during which he met Daniel, of whom he speaks with affection: “I really appreciate Daniel, a technical perfectionist, very rigorous but fair and a teacher. He obtains very good results with his students in passing grades but also in competitions, a man who has many qualities”.

For Daniel too, the relationship with Jacques takes on a particular hue, a mixture of affection and admiration for the man he considers his master and with whom he prepared and passed his 6th dan. An accessible and passionate character, Jacques Seguin was able to captivate all the students, who said they were very honored to have been able to welcome him to the Judo club Quillan. This morning was honored by the presence of Mayor Pierre Castel, Gilles Alard, deputy in charge of associations and sports, Alain Vigneau, 6th dan and associate in physical education and sports as well as René Feliu, president of the departmental committee. from Aude, who came to present the diplomas of grades and distinctions to Lu-Thi Bay and Émilie Marin, both 1st dan, and Julie Sarda Montanel, 3rd dan.

The afternoon, devoted to the conference around Jigona Kano, founder of judo, was moderated by Yves Cadot, lecturer at the University of Toulouse and European responsible for Culture. Like Daniel, the judokas welcomed these luminaries of judo with great pleasure and respect, appreciating the experience and kindness of Jacques Seguin and the eloquence and great culture of Yves Cadot.
