My prediction: Ugo Humbert wins against Shapovalov (2.25)
I think Shapovalov’s game can suit Humbert. The Frenchman doesn’t like to play against opponents who don’t give up, which is not the case with the Canadian. The latter makes mistakes, offers points and I can see Ugo taking advantage of them. He is a bit liberated in his head after being drafted into Lucky Looser. Shapovalov is a question mark, he arrived very late in Europe and hasn’t played since the end of March in Miami. I’m going to try the big shot because in Madrid, it’s at altitude, the ball flies, it can surprise Shapovalov while Ugo is used to it. The Frenchman is capable of putting in some punches on clay, like his qualifying win over Andujar and he is surely in a revengeful state of mind. For me Humbert can win.
