Premier League: The future of City: Premier, renewal of Pep, Haaland, ‘new’ stadium…

And now what? City fans wonder in Manchester, orphans, one more year, from the first ‘Orejona’ that they want so much. The Bernabu debacle does not seem, however, that it will alter the plans of an entity directed by the Spaniards Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain. “We are exhausted, but on Sunday we have another final,” they say in the environment of the English club. As of today, the roadmap seems clear.

Conquer the Premier. Obviously, he is City’s first and only target at the moment. The ‘cityzens’ take a single point from Liverpool with four games to go. Their rivals will be Newcastle (this Sunday), Wolves, West Ham and Villa. His pursuer, Klopp’s ‘Pool’, will face these obstacles: Tottenham (this Saturday), Villa, Southampton and Wolves. Going from a good season to a disastrous season without any title may depend on winning the Premier League: they lost the Community final, the FA Cup and Champions semi-finals, and in the Carabao they fell in the round of 16 against West Ham.

Pep Renewal. It seems pretty much on track, at least until before the European debacle. And it doesn’t seem that Pep is a figure that depends (so much) on the results, taking into account where he comes from and what he has won, locally, with City (three Premier, one FA Cup, four Carabao and two Community). The club and the coach seem to have their renewal well advanced for two more years, until 2025. His current contract ends in 2023. He would renew, if confirmed, for the same years (two) that he did in 2020, when his contract ended in 2021 .. The deal could be close.

Haaland. In England everyone takes for granted the signing of Erling Haaland for City, the one that was his father’s club, Alf-Inge (2000-03), who, by the way, had to retire in Manchester after a serious injury. In fact, the renewal of Guardiola would be closely linked to the arrival of Haaland as a means of convincing the Norwegian to go to the current leader of the Premier. In Manchester they expect the official announcement soon. He will sign for five years and will be the great star of the team. It is true that Pep does not like this type of ‘9’, but the strength of the club and the crack that Erling is prevail in this case.

Expansion of the Etihad Stadium. The ‘cityzen’ stadium was built in 2002 and currently has 55,017 spectators. City’s fans are not overly fiery, but if the club wants to grow, they plan to do so through a better stadium. The idea is to increase the North Stand (stand) and make it equal to the South Stand, which was already enlarged a few years ago. It is not official, but in the club they manage that.
