Park Hang-seo Says Vietnam Is More Depressed Than Indonesia

Park Hang-seo is aware that the Vietnam national team is under a little pressure against the Indonesian U-23 national team. This was triggered by the high expectations of local residents.

The first match of Group A SEA Games 2021 men’s football will be held on Friday (6/5/2022). Vietnam is the host of this Southeast Asian sporting event and the duel took place at the Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho.

Victory is certainly the hope of Vietnamese football lovers, plus his status is the defending champion of the 2019 SEA Games. Park Hang-seo as the coach admits that the status of the host and defending champion has put the Golden Star team under a bit of pressure.

“Vietnamese people expect a lot from us and we are under a bit of pressure,” Hang-seo said at a press conference ahead of the match.

The 2021 SEA Games will be Park Hang-seo’s last role in managing the Vietnam U-23 national team. After this event, he will only focus on gushing Vietnam’s senior squad.

“We will try and have a high responsibility. Personally, this is my last tournament with Vietnam U-23 and I will try and give my best,” he said.

“We have various options to overcome the opponent. Depending on the situation on the field, I will apply tactics to get the best results,” said the figure from South Korea.

Indonesia lost 1-2 to Vietnam while in the same group at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines. However, both of them were able to advance to the final and Indonesia lost 0-3 in the final match.
