Led by the Argentine striker, Pachuca today eliminated a brave Atlético de San Luis to win dramatically 3-2, which left the aggregate 5-4, in the second leg of the Grita México C22 quarterfinals, held at the Hidalgo stadium.
Now, the Tuzos will wait for tomorrow’s matches to find out who their rival will be semifinals.
After circulating the ball all over the field of play, Pachuca’s first danger came until the 10th minute, when Kevin Álvarez reached the baseline and took a center that, by a few centimeters, Nicolás Ibáñez failed to connect.
At 21′, they arrived again in enemy territory in an action that culminated in a header from Romario Ibarra, who went far from Marcelo Barovero’s left post.
After half an hour (31′), the ball reached Avilés Hurtado’s area and he set it on fire; however, the Trapito contained well in the background.

However, the taste was fleeting, because at 51′, Ricardo Chávez took advantage of a lack of concentration in the mark and appeared alone, in a free kick, to beat Óscar Ustari’s goal, with a header.
The Tuzos tried to shake off the emotional blow and almost recovered the advantage in the next play, through a header by Víctor Guzmán, to a pass from Hurtado, which passed just wide of the left metal.
At 68′, the hidalguenses regained the advantage in a blackboard play, made in a corner, where the cash went to the second post, where Pocho refocused the round and Gustavo Cabral appeared to sign the 2-1, with a header.
Later, Guzmán had the opportunity to put the third of the locals in a penalty, which was committed against Ibáñez, but he sent his powerful shot directly to the left fork of Trapito.
At 80′, Rubens Sambueza returned the courtesy and missed a solo, unmarked header, in a clear action to score.
Abel Hernández added drama to the match by achieving the goal that tied the aggregate at 90+2′ after taking advantage of a rebound that was left in the heart of the area to beat Osky.
However, Nico did his thing again and at 90 + 5 ‘he scored the winning goal for Pachuca, which put his team in the semifinals.
