Orlando Magic Win NBA Draft Lottery – More Sports

The Orlando Magic get to pick first place in this year’s annual talent selection for the North American professional basketball league NBA. That was the result of the so-called draft lottery in Chicago.

Orlando, the team of German Wagner brothers Moritz and Franz, is in a state of upheaval, ending the season with the second-worst record in the league with just 22 wins in 82 games. With Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs, the Magic had already been able to select two players early last year.

It’s the fourth time the team has had the first draft pick for Orlando. The Magic picked Shaquille O’Neal in 1992, traded number one pick Chris Webber for Penny Hardaway the following year, and picked Dwight Howard in 2004.

German international Justus Hollatz from the Hamburg Towers and Kay Bruhnke from medi Bayreuth have signed up for the draft on June 23rd. Due to their age, they can still withdraw in June. Collin Welp, son of the German European champion Chris Welp who died in 2015, is also hoping for the early jump to the NBA from college.
