New York (SID) – An insult is costing basketball superstar Kevin Durant dearly: The 33-year-old from the Brooklyn Nets has to pay a $25,000 fine after making an obscene statement to a fan in the game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The NBA announced this on Friday. The incident happened just before the end of the second quarter.
“Shut up and sit down,” Durant called out to a fan who had previously slightly provoked him. The Nets lost the game in the last second 111-113.
