The Los Angeles Lakers have found their new man of confidence.

According to what ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Friday, Darvin Ham will be named the new head coach of the Californian team.

Ham will succeed Frank Vogel, who was fired by the Lakers hours after his club ended a miserable season, relegated to 11th in the West and excluded from the playoffs with a poor 33-49 record.

The 48-year-old Ham played in the NBA from 1996 to 2005, with Denver, Indiana, Milwaukee, Atlanta and Detroit. He won the NBA championship with the Pistons in 2004.

Ham was until recently an assistant coach with the Bucks. He was hired by Mike Budenholzer with the Atlanta Hawks in 2013, and later followed him to Milwaukee.

During his playing career, Ham faced LeBron James, his new star player, four times in the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons.
