Bad headshot with baseball: TV reporter has to leave the stadium

The TV reporter reports on the Colorado Rockies, sitting near the bench at a MLB game in Denver. Then Giants batter Austin Slater (29) made a ricochet. The ball slipped and hit Kelsey Wingert square in the head.

“Kelsey, are you okay?” can be heard on TV. Paramedics immediately rush over and take care of the heavily bleeding woman. The good news: the journalist was able to leave the stadium on her own and even gave the spectators a thumbs-up.

She then spent five hours in the hospital and was sewn up with several stitches. On Wednesday, Wingert then tweeted the picture of her bloody scar running lengthwise across her forehead. Thanking everyone for the tremendous support, the reporter wrote: “I had a CT scan to make sure there was no internal bleeding or fractures and the result was clear. Thank God.” (gr)
