The Blue Jays signed a third consecutive victory against the Angels by winning 6-5 in Los Angeles. Matt Chapman drove in two runs in the win.

The two clubs meet again on Sunday for the last duel of four matches.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s double allowed Bo Bichette to cross the plate and make it 1-0 in the first set.

The Angels then showed signs of life in the fifth inning. Matt Duffy made a double that allowed Mike Trout to tie the game. Matt Duffy then crossed the plate in turn thanks to Jared Walsh.

In the 7th inning, Danny Jansen and Cavan Biggio scored to allow the Torontonians to regain a 3-2 lead in the game. However, Mike Trout put a damper on the Blue Jays’ celebrations when he kicked out to center field for his 13th long ball of the season. That two-run homer gave the Angels a 4-3 lead.

The Jays responded in the next inning. Matt Chapman’s right field arrow allowed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Teoscar Hernandez to add points to the board and make it 5-4. Raimel Tapia managed to score a double that put Chapman ahead on the cushions and put the Jays up 6-4.

In the ninth inning, Brandon Marsh allowed Matt Duffy to score to reduce the score to just one run, but it wasn’t enough.

Angels catcher Kurt Suzuki passed out on his return to the dugout after being hit by a throw in the neck during the warmup between innings. He was replaced by Max Stassi behind the plate.
