Meyer was the most successful in the Italian A-Series playoff tournament

Latvian basketball players Mareks Mejeris and Artūrs Strautiņš scored 12 and seven points respectively on Tuesday in the second games of the Italian A-Series knockout tournament, with the teams they represent suffering losses.

The Pesaro “Carpegna Prosciutto”, represented by Meier and headed by the head coach of the Latvian national team Lukas Banki, lost to the current champion “Virtus Segafredo” of Bologna at 51:70 (13:12, 12:19, 13:16, 13:23). In the series up to three victories with a 2-0 lead is “Virtus Segafredo”.

Andrea Chicharini scored 19 points for the guests and 16 points and five rebounds for Luigi Datome.

The Allianz from Trieste, as well as the Vanoli team from Cremona, represented by Werner Kohs, did not enter the playoffs.

Reggio Emilia’s team with 15 wins in 30 games took seventh place in the tournament table, while Pesaro’s team was the eighth with 14 successes, followed by the Trieste club with the same balance. The Cremona basketball players with a balance of 8-22 were 16th and finished the season in the last place, leaving the top league.

Last season, Bologna “Virtus” became the champion of Italy.
