The sports unit Martín Alarcón Hisojo, “La Hortaliza” from Metepec, hosted the 2022 Regional Pole Sports Championship, the last selective filter in the men’s and women’s branches for the National Championship, where tickets to the World Championship will be in dispute and whose headquarters will be Cancun, Quintana Roo.
For this last qualifying event, 51 participants from the states of Puebla, Oaxaca, Morelos, Mexico City and the State of Mexico took part.
The Mexican representation had the participation of a group of 21 athletes who had activity in the different categories that marked the call.
Of the total number of participants, only seven formed the men’s branch and the rest, the women’s branch.
On this occasion, the open categories in which the athletes sought to secure their place in the national were, youth 3, with a minimum age of 12 years, to the oldest, which ranged from 50 to 59 years.
The elements to be evaluated in the 2022 Regional Pole Sports Championship were those that mark the routine as mandatory, in addition to deductions, acrobatic exercises and artistic language.
Jezabel Olmos Lemus, president of the Pole Sports Federation, was in charge of leading the opening ceremony and the start of the official activities, which was carried out by Emmanuel Garduño, representative of the Metepec Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.
For more than 8 hours, the athletes showed their skills in each routine and it will be the Mexican Federation of Pole Sports who will evaluate the results to grant direct tickets to the national championship of this sport.
