Honor where credit is due. ÖJV Vice-President and Salzburg’s Judo State Association President Hans-Peter Zopf was awarded the (state) Sports Medal in Gold by Governor Wilfried Haslauer and State Councilor for Sport Stefan Schnöll on Wednesday in the Salzburg Residence. The 64-year-old has been leading the Salzburg state association for almost 10 years. With the expansion of the school sports model and the appointment of the two state trainers Marianne Niederndorfer and Julius Meinel, he set strong accents for the judo youth. As chairman, he presides over the Judogym Salzburg association in a proven manner. Hans-Peter insists on standing on the mat several times a week and passing on his extensive knowledge.
Hans-Peter Zopf has also worked for Judo Austria for decades in various functions – currently as Vice-President and member of the Board of Directors. Among other things, he led the Bundesliga in its current form and developed it into a model for success.
