Mbenza ‘not yet discussed with management’ over extension

Casually, Isaac Mbenza has come a long way since his arrival on boulevard Zoé Drion. In two months, the former Valenciennes recovered his health to the point of tasting a first tenure in Limburg in place of the Kayembe executive.

Author of an average first half with some loss of ball and limited offensive production, the native of Saint-Denis is at fault on the equalizer by being too easily passed by Ito. It was not a gift to defend against the restless winger.

“Ito, not Ito, it doesn’t matter who the opponent is, I don’t overestimate anyone, but I don’t underestimate anyone either. The coach felt I could play. I didn’t do badly in the first half. “It was a tough game, but you had to be focused like in the first half. I knew I was a bit behind, but I worked hard. I took my chance.”

With a three-month contract, Mbenza still won his bet by managing to install doubt in his coach’s head. “I have experience and I know that in these situations you shouldn’t overdo it otherwise that’s where you kill yourself.”

Will he extend his lease at Mambourg when he is not playing in the position of 9, where he revealed himself a few years ago with Montpellier? “I haven’t spoken with management yet. You have to ask the president, but I feel good. I don’t necessarily want to leave. I’m getting my feelings back. It’s not my job as predilection, but I’m working on it. We spoke with the coach, he sees me there and I accept.”
