Mayor of Zaragoza signs agreement for the creation of the Municipal Judo Club

The Mayor’s Office of Zaragoza, chaired by César Godoy, and the National Judo Federation signed this afternoon an agreement for the creation of the Municipal Judo Club in this town located in the department of La Libertad.

This club will function as a space for the practice of judo, providing a physical and recreational activity to the youth of Zaragoza, thus contributing to the healthy recreation and education in values ​​of children, adolescents and young people.

“We are going to have the judo club completely free. We are betting on sport. We open a new space in the history of a judo club, a discipline of Japanese origin. It is from the age of 10 and is completely free. I invite all people to join the judo club, “said the mayor.

Luis Chévez, president of the National Judo Federation, thanked Mayor Godoy for contributing to the expansion of the practice of this sport. “As a federation we express our joy at the opening of this club. The club is going to be in the hands of Roberto Alemán, a world referee,” Chévez announced.

“Three times a week we are going to have judo classes. We believe that the best prevention of violence is sports,” added Mayor Godoy, also announcing that soccer, swimming and chess classes will be held in the municipality.

With the agreement between the Mayor’s Office of Zaragoza and the Salvadoran Judo Federation, it is sought to develop an arduous and continuous work in teaching this sport discipline to the children and young people of the municipality.
