Martial arts. Kumite and Judo, the results of the weekend

Youth World Cup. The Ippon Karate Lentini of Sciacca

won a prestigious gold medal in Limassol, Cyprus, for the Youth League, in the specialty kumite, controlled contact combat. Even 1627 participating athletes, for 51 nations on the platform for one of the most important events of the first competitive semester.

The gold medal came thanks to Emma Colletti from Calabria in the Junior category up to 48 kilograms. Colletti triumphed by clearly overtaking 4 athletes from other nations.

Andrea D’Anna, on the other hand, in the Junior category up to 61 kilograms, out of 71 competitors in his category, achieved seventh place, a result that is a bit tight for him. Nothing to do for the other athletes Irene Marturano, Paolo Propizio, Nicolò Alfano, Giuseppe Gigliotta, Liborio D’Azzo, Ludovica Balneare and Calogero Turturici, who, despite passing some matches, then had to surrender. Great satisfaction for the maestro Marco Lentini who accompanied the boys to Cyprus.

And let’s move on to Judo. After two years of hiatus, the boys of the Karate Judo Club of Sciacca are back on the platform. On Saturday 30 April, the Saccensi boys played in the Regional Judo Championship for the Juniores class, valid as qualification for the national phase. In Avola, the maestro Pippo Piazza and the coach Alberto Catanzaro brought two athletes to the platform. Diego Craparo 60 kg category, and Emanuele Truzzolino 66 kg, both won the Bronze Medal in their category, at the end of a good competitive performance.
