Manises City Council will donate 22 computers to different associations that are no longer suitable for the tasks for which they were purchased. The transfer agreement was approved in plenary session unanimously by all groups.

The Councilor for Modernization and ICT, Guillermo Martínez, has pointed out that “in recent years, a great effort has been made from the area to renew most of the municipal equipment because technologies change rapidly and it is necessary to have the most up-to-date material available. possible to provide a good service to the citizenry”.

“With this initiative, a double objective is fulfilled: on the one hand, to give a second life to computer equipment that can still be used, and on the other, to provide entities and associations with access to this material at no cost”, he added. .

The agreement proposal specifies that a report issued by the IT technique indicates that, taking into account that the equipment was purchased in 2009 and 2010, they are amortized. The computers can no longer be used for the purpose for which they were originally intended, which is why they were removed from the municipal inventory of goods; but they can still be put to other uses.

That is why it has been approved to transfer 22 complete computer equipment to 16 associations, with the condition that they will use them to carry out the functions to which each one is dedicated.

The beneficiaries so far are the Ceramic Badminton and Basketball clubs; the student family associations (AFA) of the Joan Fuster and Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente schools; the Manises, Carme, Barrio de Sant Francesc and Plaza del Mercat fallas; the Montemayor Neighborhood Association, Fundación Movimiento Ciudadano; Relatives of Victims of the Francoism of Graves 21 and 127 of Paterna; Butoni Films and the International Music Festival (FIM), Business Innovation and Together Sharing Dreams associations.

A new application period will soon be enabled in the electronic office to give other associations or groups the possibility of receiving one of these computers.
