Lewandowski’s decision – Sport – SZ.de

The decision about Robert Lewandowski’s future has apparently been made. The exceptional Polish striker reportedly wants to leave FC Bayern by the summer of next year at the latest, like them Bild-Newspaper and Sport 1 reports. An extension of the contract, which is dated until 2023, is therefore no longer an option for the attacker. It is said that Lewandowski informed those responsible for the record champions of his decision last week.

It is apparently unclear when the 33-year-old world footballer will leave Bayern, for whom he has been chasing goals since 2014. Should the club still want to transfer Lewandowski, an early separation would have to be completed in the summer. Bavaria’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic recently ruled out an early transfer. Recently, an early move to the Spanish top club FC Barcelona has been discussed again and again. The transfer fee was more than 40 million euros.

There has been speculation about a successor for weeks

Lewandowski came to Bayern without a transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014. He could also extend his contract with the Munich record champions again. The poker for Lewandowski’s future has been going on for weeks. In addition, there were various speculations about possible successors. Among other things, a meeting between Salihamidzic and Dortmund attacker Erling Haaland was reported in March. However, the Norwegian will join English club Manchester City for the new season. Patrik Schick from Bayer Leverkusen, Romelu Lukaku (FC Chelsea) and Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig were also traded in Munich. There is said to be or was interest in the former Frankfurter Sebastien Haller from Ajax Amsterdam and Darwin Nunez (Benfica Lisbon).
