Latvian youth opponents in European championships are known

The lottery of the 2022 European Youth Championships has taken place. The teams are divided into groups, the possible routes in the elimination tournament are also marked.

U20 women (2002/2003; head coach Matiss Rožlapa) will play against Serbia, Russia and Ireland in Group D at the Division A tournament in Sopron, Hungary (July 8-16). In the eighth final, you will have to play with one of the Group C teams (Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria).

U20 men (2002/2003; head coach Dāvis Čoders) will play against the Polish, Hungarian, Bulgarian and Irish teams in Group C in the Division B tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia (July 15-24). The two best units will continue to fight for a ticket to Division A.

U18 juniors (2004/2005; head coach Juris Umbraško) in the Division B tournament in Oradea, Romania (July 29 – August 7) ​​in the Group C tournament with teams from Portugal, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland and Romania. The top two teams in the knockout tournament will continue to fight for a ticket to Division A.

U18 juniors (2004/2005; head coach Aigars Nerips) In the Division A tournament in Heraklion, Greece (August 6-14), Group B will play for the Czech, Belgian and Greek teams. The team of group A (Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey) will face in the eighth final.

U16 cadets (2006; head coach Gatis Melderis) In the first stage of the Division A tournament in Skopje, the capital of northern Macedonia (August 12-20), Group C will play with Turkish, Italian and Polish cadets. One of the teams of Group D (Spain, Greece, Russia, Northern Macedonia) will face in the eighth final.

U16 cadets (2006; head coach Ainars Chukste) in the Division A tournament in the Portuguese city of Matthias (August 19-27) in Group C will play against the Portuguese, Russian and Belgian teams. In the first round of the elimination tournament, you will have to play with one of the Group D teams (Greece, Czech Republic, Denmark, France).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, FIBA ​​Europe canceled the 2020 European Youth Championships and held Challenger tournaments in the summer of 2021, the results of which did not affect the official ranking table.
