Latvian championship medals in the men’s doubles will be won in the petanque fields of the adventure park

On Saturday, May 28, in the Ventspils Adventure Park, the Latvian petanque championship will take place.

23 pairs of doubles from nine clubs have been entered for the Latvian championship. In this championship, clubs are allowed to form joint teams. Ventpils curling club will be represented by three players – Latvian champions in doubles Raido Blumbergs and Andris Padrevics, but Normunds Priede will compete in pairs together with the player of the sports club “Rīgas petanka” Edgars Austrums.

The games of the Latvian Championship in Ventspils Adventure Park will take place on Saturday from 10.00 to approximately 19.00. The opponent of the first game is determined by the results of last year’s championship, initially four games will be played according to the Swiss system, according to which the best sixteen pairs will compete for medals in the four games of the final tournament, while the rest will continue to compete for the best possible places in the championship. There is a time limit for all games – 50 minutes and one more cassette play, but the finals for medals will be played without a time limit until one of the teams gets 13 points.
