Lagunero wins gold in high jump at Universiade

CIUDAD JUÁREZ, CHIH.- Salvador Morales Galindo, representing the Autonomous University of Coahuila (UAdeC), won the gold medal as the best in the high jump test of the National Universiade that takes place in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.

The student, originally from La Laguna, overcame a barrier of 1.90 meters in height.

It was his coach, Eduardo Hernández Treviño, who presented him with the medal when he climbed on the podium.

The National Universiade began on May 12 at the Benito Juárez University Olympic Stadium and will end on June 5.

The competition brings together 107 athletes and 27 coaches from the UAdeC in 14 disciplines: Chess, Athletics, Bardas Football, Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Rugby, Wrestling, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Archery, Tochito, Beach Volleyball, high jump, among others, being the largest number of university students to attend a Universiade in the last 10 years.
