Ciudad Juarez, Chih. The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) announced the National Universiade 2022, from May 13 to June 2, there will be 26 sports disciplines of which 15 are individual and 11 as a whole, nine thousand 300 participants are expected from more than 120 academic institutions, as well as coaches and assistants from higher education schools that are associated with the National Council for Sports in Education AC (CONDEE).
This Tuesday at a press conference they reported the dates, venues and disciplines that will participate in this event, which resumes after two years of suspension due to the health contingency.
Master Juan Ignacio Camargo Nassar, rector of the UACJ, host of the event, accompanied by Dr. Manuel Alan Merodio Reza, general executive secretary of CONDDE; and Javier González Mocken, secretary of Education, Culture and Sports of the state of Chihuahua; with the mayor of Juárez Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, they announced this event with thousands of people visiting the city.
“On behalf of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, we are ready to welcome the best athletes from higher education institutions, and that this 2022 National Universiade is the ideal occasion to highlight the values that distinguish those who participate in each one of the sports disciplines that we will have”, stated Camargo Nassar.
The inauguration of the sports fair will take place on Friday, May 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Benito Juárez Olympic Stadium; Judo, tennis, indoor volleyball, indoor soccer, athletics, taekwondo, badminton, basketball, table tennis, gymnastics, chess, archery, baseball, flag tack, among others, will compete in its course.
Pérez Cuellar stressed that this event is of great importance, not only for the University, but for all Juarenses, so it was decided unanimously in the Cabildo, to contribute eight million pesos for the event.
He indicated that the challenge is for all citizens, since apart from the economic benefit that this event represents in the city, it is an opportunity to change the image of this border in order to attract more national and even international events.
