Whether he wears the Parisian or Madrid jersey, the world champion will miss the first official match of the 2022-23 season. Last Saturday in Montpellier (4-0), the former Monegasque received his third warning in the last ten matches. He is therefore automatically suspended for one match, but the sanction will be effective from next Monday, two days after PSG-Metz counting for the 38th day of L1.

“Any disciplinary sanction of a maximum of four matches or three months which has been imposed on a player by his former association but which has not yet been (entirely) served at the time of the transfer must be enforced by the new association with which the player was registered in order for the sanction to be served at national level“, says the FIFA regulations.
